About
An independent guide to one island
Tourism Newfoundland covers the island of Newfoundland, part of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. We are not a government body, a tourism board, or a booking agency, and we have no commercial relationship with the operators we mention.
How we work
Guides are built from time on the ground, conversations with people who live and work in these communities, and cross-checking against Parks Canada, provincial parks and ecological reserve information, Marine Atlantic and provincial ferry schedules, and Environment Canada forecasts. We publish driving times that reflect actual road conditions rather than best-case mapping estimates.
What we will not do
- Promise icebergs, whales, or weather.
- Treat outport communities as scenery.
- Recommend an itinerary we would not drive ourselves.
- Flatten Newfoundland into a generic Atlantic Canada or Celtic package.
Corrections
Ferry schedules change, businesses close, and trails get rerouted. If something here is out of date, tell us and we will fix it. Write to support@tourismnewfoundland.ca.
